Feb 23 update
Finally an update……..
Dad Poll Update: Dad has been doing better the last few weeks. We had a meeting at Kent Community Hospital last Friday with Russ' Mom, Ed, Rogor & 4 hospital personnel to try to get answers as to why he was moved from the rehab floor to the long term floor where he receives no rehab. He had been making good progress & we were given no reason as to why he had to move. Also he was given no diagnosis so we still don’t know what was wrong with him. He is able to walk with a walker but still needs help to get out of bed and is a bit unsteady. He also seems to be doing better with this memory & seems to know what is going on around him. We are still waiting on an answer from the Hospital. Barb, the contact there, spoke with Russ yesterday & she said she is still investigating. She will be out of the Hospital until next week so he won’t hear from her again until at least Monday. Ed has put the application in at the Vets facility in Grand Rapids and Ed thought it won’t be long before Dad is moved. Russ' Mom has been very tired & winded and we are very concerned about her heart. She has had a lot to deal with. She has a Dr. appointment soon.
2 weekends ago we had a nice visit with Shana and Linda. Shana is a teacher in the Rochester Hill School District & the Freshman girls volleyball coach. They had their last tournament for the year in Birch Run. Linda came to stay with us & we all went to watch. There were 12 teams & Shana’s played very well. They made it to the final championship match & played against Frankenmuth. Her team ended up losing in the tie breaker but they played very well (it must have been the Great coaching). Congrats Shana!! The next day she flew to Florida during her winter break & stayed with her Dad, Mike in the Tampa area. Linda will be going down the 1st of April during her Spring break & ride back to MI with Mike when he drives back with the RV. He has spent the winter working & staying in the Tampa area because the warm weather is better for his back.
Last weekend Russ had a meeting in Holland Friday during the day and we had the meeting at the hospital in the afternoon. We spent the night at Linda’s house then on Saturday we went to a 25th Wedding Anniversary party for Rogor & Sherry given by their children Marie & Adam. It was very nice!! Great job Marie & Adam!! Dan wasn't able to attend because he went to a Toby Keith/Ted Nugent concert in Lansing with friends.
Dan is planning to come this Friday to have his car looked at. He’s had some trouble with the starter. He also plans to get packed for Florida. We fly out of Flint on a Delta flight on Friday, March 4 and will return on Sunday, March 13. We have a stop in Atlanta & Kristie will join us on the flight to Tampa. Dan’s friend Joe will be going with us also. Kristie will return on Tuesday. We’ll take Kristie to the airport then head to bike week in Daytona. Rogor, Sherry, Marie & Adam will be spending that same week in Daytona. Rogor was at bike week last year so he can give us scoop on where to go. Other than Daytona we don’t have plans other than enjoying the heat & sunshine!!!

Thank you for calling us again Russ and keeping us up-to-date on G'ma and G'pa. I can't believe they could move G'pa without consent and all that.
Have a fun and safe trip to Florida. Tampa is a nice place, my G'ma Lytle has lived there for years. We used to go there every year when I was a kid. Anyway, have fun and be safe!!
